Mias sjöbod is located just 50 m from the house. It's a very cozy café of one of a kind that is just a must to visit. Here you can get a latte and delicious cake or a light meal. You shouldn't miss the shrimp sandwich, that is as much Bohuslän as it can get. In good weather you should sit outside on the jetty with a view over the sea and the other boathouses.

Erwings Junkfood is a restaurant located just at the harbour with a sea view, 200 m from the house. Here you will be served great food and great bear in a cozy and relaxed atmosphere with a mix of locals, visitors and people using the guest harbour. Sometimes they arrange quiz evenings and live band music.

"Kiosken" is the natural gathering point for locals and visitors in Hälleviksstrand. Kiosken serves coffee, icecream, hamburgers, sausage and candy. The hamburgers and sausages are delicious and contain high quality meat from local producers. Kiosken is located just at the "harbour", 200 m from the house.

Bryggvingen is a fish restaurant serving delicious dishes based on fish they catch from their own local fishing boat. They serve e.g. fish soup, shellfish pie, moules frites and shrimp sandwich. There is also a small fish shop where you can buy fresh fish to bring home to prepare a good fish meal yourself.

Bryggvingen is located on the island Lyr. There is a very short 2-minute ferry ride from Orust to Lyr.

Orust Blommor ("Orust Flowers") is a charming garden centre located 9 km from the house. They have a pelargonium museum with over 500 pelargonium species.

New for 2017 is that the new owners have opened a cozy café/restaurant with an excellent choice of food, sweets and beverages.

Nösund Havshotell is a resort offering conference facilities, spa, restaurant and show evenings with famous artists. It's located just by the waters, 8 km from the house in Hälleviksstrand.

If you enjoy kayaking or want to try it, Orust Kajak is the place to go to rent kayaks. It's located at Stocken Camping, 8 km from the house. The archipelago outside of Orust is magnificent for kayaking, that's for sure. A trip along Hermanö, especially to the south part will definitely give you a great experience and memory.

Orust Golf Club is one of Sweden's most beautiful seaside golf courses. It's located 10 km from the house in the beautiful valley of Morlanda, neighbour to the medieval Morlanda church. There is a great lunch restaurant and nice walking environments nearby. It's also close to the ferry to the island Malö.

There is a gravel tennis court in Hälleviksstrand with a great windshielded location just behind the church. Booking is made in the "Kiosken", at the harbour 200 m from the house.

Orust Fisk is located 9 km from the house and offers freshly catched fish from the nearby sea,

Käringön is a vehicle-free charming small island west of Hälleviksstrand, in the Skagerack Ocean. You get here by taking the ferry from Tuvesvik, 8 km from the house. It's an island with typical Bohuslän houses and boathouses. There are 3-4 restaurants and plenty of bathing places.

Gullholmen is located on the island Hermanö north of Hälleviksstrand. Just like Käringön, it's a vehicle-free island reached by ferry from Tuvesvik (8 km from the house). Hermanö is a much larger island than Käringön, and if you like hiking, you should walk your way through Gullholmen and then continue towards the south until you reach Hermanö Huvud (Hermanö Head) about 6.5 km south of Gullholmen. There you have a great view over the sea. Hermanö does also offer a number of nice bathing places, especially one right to the west of Gullholmen with steep rocks right into the deep water.

Gullholmsbaden is a restaurant and pub with a great seaside location at Gullholmen on the island Hermanö. They serve really great food. One example is the great shrimp sandwich. They have indoor and outdoor seating with a great view over "Hermanö ränna", where plenty of boats pass.

It's a great idea to combine a walk on Hermanö with a lunch at Gullholmsbaden. A suggestion is to walk all the way to "Hermanö Huvud" that is located at the southernmost point of Hermanö, approximately 6.5 km from the ferry at Gullholmen.

Mollösund is - just like Hälleviksstrand - an old fisher village, located 10 km south of Hälleviksstrand.

There is a selection of restaurants (Café Emma, Mollösunds Wärdshus, Knuts Brygga and Kvarnen). There is also a great fish store, Larssons Fisk.

If you enjoy shopping, Göksäter is a very popular outlet store on Orust. Here you find basically anything. Tools, clothes, accessories, decorations, furnishing, toys, household stuff, anything and to very reasonable prices. There is also a café.

Sven's Altare is a tower 105 m above the sea level with a great view over Orust towards the east and over the sea towards the west. The access to the tower is via a nice hiking trail that starts in the beautiful Morlanda valley. The distance from the parking to the tower is about 6 km, mostly uphill.

Töllås Sheep farm is located on the northeastern part of Orust. Here you can buy delicious local fresh lamb meat. In the shop they also sell their own jam, jellies and chutneys, lamb sausages and sheepskins. During the growing season you also find fresh vegetables from the picturesque kitchen-garden on the premises.

In the Summer Café you will find a seat under the big ash tree in the kitchen garden or along the sun-heated wall of the farm-coffeehouse.

Slussens Pensionat is a popular place, combining good food and good live music. It's located on the northeastern part of Orust.

The restaurant is open in the evening when they arrange live music events. They serve an á la carte seasonal menu with lots of local products. The menu focuses primarily on fresh greens, fish and shellfish, lamb from local farms, organic meat from Gröna Gårdar (Green Farms) and free range chicken. Vegans and vegetarians will of course always be able to find something delicious on the menu.

Sundsby Säteri is a café, restaurant and shop located in a large park in a beautiful environment on the island Tjörn just south of Orust. There is a 4.2 km hiking trail passing beautiful viewpoints, fascinating caves, crevasses, gorges and sea bays.

Havets Hus is a large aquarium site, consisting of over 40 separate aquariums of different sizes. They contain all sorts of creatures you can find in the ocean, and is really worth a visit. Havets Hus is located in Lysekil, 57 km north of Hälleviksstrand. Lysekil has many restaurants and several bathing places.

Nordens Ark is located 77 km north of Hälleviksstrand and is a zoo that works to preserve endangered animals. They have about 80 species and breeds, most of which come from a climate similar to that in Scandinavia. You will meet endangered old Nordic breeds, wild mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and insects. Nordens Ark is open daily.

Liseberg is one of the leading amusement parks in Europe and offers entertainment, attractions and restaurants of the highest standard. It's located in Göteborg (Gothenburg), 90 km south of Hälleviksstrand. If you plan to visit Göteborg and have children along, this is really a great destination.
